Their Celebrity Clientele Speak for Themselves

Since their founding in 1981, Recollections has evolved from a wedding attire business to the premiere online destination for historical era clothing. In 1999, Recollections launched their first e-Commerce website.

Over the past few years, they have outfitted the popular band Panic At The Disco for their smash hit “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” music video.

Owner, Marianne Dewey pioneered sales of historical clothing on the internet. Starting with just 30 products, Recollections has grown to offer over 1,000 products to their worldwide customer base.

As their customer base grew, and product offerings expanded, Recollections has become very well known in their niche. Over the past few years, they have outfitted the popular band Panic At The Disco for their smash hit “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” music video, clothed a character on the CBS Drama “The Good Wife”, and will be outfitting the entire cast of a new show premiering on Comedy Central this fall. While their products and clientele were outstanding, the website was not.

Recognizing the need for change, Recollections approached 216digital, Inc. to discuss a website refresh. Marianne expressed the desire to maintain a “Historical Feel” while implementing a state of the art ecommerce website. By this time the Recollections name had created an impressive community of followers, and she wanted social engagement features built into the new site design that would allow her to engage her avid fan base. With these requirements in mind, 216digital set their sights on creating a new, market leading website for Marianne and her team.

Fast forward to Fall 2014, 216digital completed a full design of the Recollections website. The new website has combined amazing new product photography, smart search, enhanced navigation, a company blog, and an interactive “Style Gallery.” The launch of the new website has led to an increase in sales, an upswing in social engagement, and conversion rate growth!
